You do not get a stipend (BAH or otherwise) during residency since you are employed. At that point your status would be considered "rehabilitated." You may be able to get EAA (employment allowance adjustment) for up to two months, but it is not automatic (there are certain criteria that need to be met for it).
@rangerdad, you seem to have made your mind up and tbh I have a lot of respect for what you have done, so I won't criticize your decision, but rather wish you the best in your journey. Just be aware that your fellow servicemembers are trying to look out for you and only have your best interests at heart. I do believe that you will have a difficult time getting a VRC to approve a Caribbean school simply because the cost will crest the $25K mark which automatically requires the approval of the VR&E officer, which is unlikely to happen.
