Hey everyone I just got my MCAT score today and got a 508 C/P:127 CARS: 126 B/B:127 P/S: 128. I'm not sure if I should retake it and would appreciate your advise! I don't have a great undergraduate GPA because I actually didn't decide to want to go to medical school until after I graduated.
My overall GPA is a 3.149 with my sGPA trend being Freshman: 3.238 Sophomore: 2.611 Junior: 2.5 Senior: 3.417 with no extra activities.
When I decided to go to medical school after a burn accident involving a close family member, I went to do a Biomedical Sciences Masters degree GPA: 3.889 only getting 1 B and all A's with only one class left till I finish.
I got a lot of clinical experience working at an urgent care and became a fire fighter and was able to get a NASA fellowship where I did research for my schools college of medicine and research at a NASA space center. I would be considered economically disadvantaged and from disadvantaged background but I am Asian so that might effect my chances due to the stats when it comes to Asian matriculants.
I know ideally I would want a 511 to be an average matriculant but I've already taken 31 FL practice exams over the course of a year long prep because I kept pushing it back due to scoring low and inconsistent.
I took Blueprint FL 1-8 twice and 9 & 10 once, took the 2022 and 2023 free Princeton and Kaplan tests, took both 2022 and 2023 free AAMC exams twice, AAMC exams 1 & 2 twice, and AAMC exams 3 & 4 once. I didn't finish all the practice bank questions and didn't finish UWorld either when I actually took my MCAT. I've kept studying since taking my actual MCAT just in case I would need to retake so its not like I dropped the MCAT completely, I've been on top of my Anki and finished more practice bank passages.
I'm just not sure if I should take it again because I would be running low on new practice exams and potentially review materials by the time I take it again and scared I might score lower for whatever reason.
I also keep looking at the MSAR reports of school especially ones that I would have a connect to go to/in state schools my MCAT isn't within reach and I'm 1 point lower then the lowest MCAT my school took last year. I know MSAR isn't something I should base my decision on but I honestly can't help think I won't even make it past the computer screening.
Any advise would be appreciated!
